hair turned out (depending on the light):

1) dark red to burgundy (sp?)
2) "beer colored" (sort of an amber lager i suppose)
3) rusty red

so there ya go. in further news, i just spent about two hours taking various pieces off my car in an attempt to fix various annoyances, but to no avail... looks like i get to take it in for repairs/upgrades.
