on the road again

i just can't wait to get on the road again
i life i love is going bikin' with my friends
and i just can't wait to get on the road again.

mileage: 46.4 (thanks to a last minute set of detours that added mileage to the original 38)
time in saddle: 3hrs 6 minutes
stops: 4 (2 for pictures, 1 for lunch, 1 for a quick application of sun screen)
road pizzas seen: too many to count
comments regarding the streams on my bike: 3 on the road, 2 at stops
power gel packs consumed: 2 (steer clear of the strawberry banana ones... yuck)
cliff bars consumed: 1 (pre-ride)

but enough with the numbers. what an absolutely beautiful day for a ride! only a couple clouds in the sky and the temperature stayed relatively cool the entire day. the difference in riding with tighties to butt huggers is amazing. no chaffing ass today. however, it seems that i now have to learn the fine art of strategic "dressing" to keep certain body parts from splitting and shifting into odd places in these crazy skin tight shorts. blorp. oh!

best part of the ride? the two women at the finish line who played along with my tour de france sprint to end + victory salute by providing hardy applause and cheering. heh. they rock.

next goal: century by october.
