dilema (of sorts) ((CLIFFHANGER!))

let's say the people you work for hired some outside agency to code a relatively simple application for your website. let's also say that said outside organization sucks ass and that the code you were given is uglier than a gangrenous ingrown toe nail? straight up. it sucks. it doesn't even meet the specs that were laid out before the coding started. and we paid them. in full. and now it's _your_ job to "fix" it.

given:

1) really, the code is such a collection of kludges that the idea of application design doesn't apply as much as the dilbert-esque/pointy-haired-boss "i don't care, just make it work!" adage.

2) appreantly, unlike the people hired to do the job, you
problem being, do you:

a) suck it up, wade through the poorly written/designed/documented body of code and "fix" stuff

or

b) suck it up, and re-write the whole damned thing yourself.

tune in sometime soon for the dramatic conclusion (at least i hope it's a conclusion)
