break-up pottery
heh.
in preparation for enrolling in a ceramics class, i was looking at the stuff i threw (is there really a past tense form of throw in the context of pottery?) while i spent a week @ Chautauqua.
it's actually pretty good. one of the instructors even told me so... this particular instructor wasn't my particular instructor this week, but he was helping me fire the last of my pieces. essentially he said, "those are really nice. have you taken classes before?" (i hadn't).
i told him that in addition to the class time spent at the wheel, the only time i wasn't throwing was when i was eating, sleeping, attending the morning/evening lectures, or going for my (almost) daily bike ride around the (heh) gated community.
it's amazing what one does in order to stay away from your recently-broken-up-still-really-good-friends-cuz-yer-spending-a-week-in-a-gated-community-(was it 2?)-yet-not-enough-time-has-passed-ex-significant-other. (appearantly, you get really good at throwing circular objects... again, throwing in the ceramic sense, and not the sports sense).
things that make me giggle.
mrph!
