i spent the summer sanding...

okay, not the summer, but labor day weekend. for weeks i had been talking about refinishing the beer garden down @ leopold's... (and now i'm thinking i should do something for the website as well...)

in any case...

lacking a belt sander, it took about 8 hours with a hand sander to get two 25 - 30 foot boards. boards. not tables. boards. an interesting meditative experience... but...

come monday: a belt sander!
mmmm.... power tool(s). ((heh))

you don't mess around with a belt sander. it'll take yer face off. or it'll suck up the power cord if yer not careful. :)

an entire table? 2 - 3 hrs. (plus time for sandpaper belt replacement, power cord fixing, etc...)

it was nice to work outside. . . now that i've got my cube almost all cozy like, i'm gonna have to do some rogue wireless stuff so i can sit outside and code.
