everytime i have/get to go to detroit for something, it reminds me of the first time i went there. it was a road trip from pittsburgh, pa with two friends.

one friend, during the long drive up, sketched a great picture of a spider robot wreaking havoc in an already thrashed neighborhood with the words: "detroit in flames" written on it. (or maybe not written on it, just called that.. anyhoo)

that's the picture that's in my head when i go out there. it's sad to say that i think it's fairly accurate except for the spider robot monster.

i think that would actually make detroit cool.

in any case, i'm going out for a show tonight, alone, so if i don't write about it tomorrow, hopefully that means i've been eaten by a spider robot... or busted inside the thing and took out half the city before i was destroyed by the powerpuff girls
