what is it about pittsburgh? in less than 24 hours, i have been contacted by two ex-'burghers telling me that they have reloated or are in the process of relocating back to da'burgh. i won't go into any detail about all the people who are still there, STUCK, while many of us have left. (for those who don't know, i went to college in pgh)

is it the iron city beer? is it all those darned bridges? all the freeway construction? the o-rritos? those damn trays full of fries? the steam tunnels? buggies (god forbid)? shadyside? udupi's? monroeville? ikea? the double egg w/ cheese? the pso? the matress factory? red white and blue? the smell of wean hall?

everyone used to joke that pgh is/was a black hole. every once and a while i give a couple seconds of thought to relocating to pgh. so what if i've heard gun shots near where i used to live or found spent bullet casings/shells in the parking lot of a pep boys by my apt?

i have a lot of good memories of my time in pgh. it's good to know that i've got plenty of reasons for a roadtrip to go back.
