sanitization as meditation or preperation
during this time of insane prespiration
i completely emptied out my cube tonight and set things back (essentially) as they should be. i actually have both work surfaces installed again, and the shelving units are back in normal positions as well.
the only "interesting" things that remain in my cube are my krispy kreme mug and the writing on my whiteboard. and the writing only counts because it's colorful, not becuase the actual content is anything other than work related.
the couch was moved downstairs and into the cube of the guy who got me hired. it was actually bartered for an old futon and perhaps some bookshelves or other random stuff he decides he doesn't want sitting around in his basement anymore.
the rest of the toys and other decorations will sit in my basement until i begin my anti-pack-rat-ing project.
i think it'll be nice to have my last four days @ work be in a (almost, can't forget the kk mug) sterile cube. and in all probability, since i'm training someone for the next 3 days, i won't actually be spending much time in it (training will probably take place in a conf room), but it'll be nice to at least see it in the morning and do one last email check from it in the evening.
plus on friday, all i have to do is leave my laptop and keycard with someone and just walk out the building...
call it pre-emptive closure.
